Estate Sale Friday

Hi, Everyone!

Last Friday, Maddie and I hit one estate sale.  The weather was pretty cold and dreary so there weren't too many sales to be had. Luckily, this one turned out to be worth our while.  We were numbers 16 and 17 to get in but unfortunately they were only letting 7 people in at once.  Man, that's torture!  I'm sure we missed out on some stuff but what we did find, I'm totally happy with.

This bag came full of clothespins.  It's pretty cute but not exactly the colors I'm using in my laundry room makeover so I will hang it outside on my clothesline and use it for it's intended purpose...to hold clothespins!

As usual, Maddie tore off in a different direction once we got in the door.  She found this Thermos for me out in the garage.  It looks to be brand new!

This is the second Frigidaire promotional glass I have found.  It's really cool because it has swatches of all of the colors the appliances came in.  I have 2 Texas Jigger tumblers and I didn't even know the Oregon ones existed!

There were hundreds of pigs in all shapes and sizes at this sale.  I was super excited to find the wall mounted ones.  A lot of the figurines were newer but I did manage to find one marked Made in Japan.  Isn't she cute?

There was one small table of holiday decorations out in the garage and I dug these Gurley candles out of all the newer style ones.  The Cactus trivet will be used on my dining room table when I do my Cinco de Mayo display.  Not sure exactly why I picked up the frame other than that it was a quarter.

I learned last Christmas that with all the baking we do, you can't ever have enough cookie plates and tins.  FYI....I don't give these away.  I use them when we have parties during the holiday season.  The Easter one is the second I have found this year.  It's so dang cute!  I wish I could find more.

So not a bad sale at all.  Plus, I got all this loot for under 10 bucks.  As I was walking out, I noticed a pantry in the kitchen that I had missed before.  There was a stack of Butterfly Gold casseroles inside marked at a dollar each.  I walked away.  Aren't you all so proud of my non-hoarding abilities?

Next time I'll share my awesome flea market finds!

  1. You always find the cutest stuff. Love the clothespin bag. I remember some Easter plates like those from my childhood. Lucky you to get to go to an estate sale. There haven't been any good ones here yet. Happy treasure hunting.

  2. TORTURE to only let 7 in at a time. That is so ridiculous..at least you still found goodies.

  3. I love the Frigidaire glass. I've never seen one of those, even online.
And, because I like the Thermos y'all found, I have a question (or two): What do you do with your collection? Do you actually use the Thermoses? Or do you just display them for their unique patterns and colors?
    Thanks for sharing!

  4. Definitely proud of your ability to hold back on the pyrex. If it were around my parts, those babies would've been priced at full-blown retail (or more, in some cases). There's only a few estate sale companies around here and they tend to price stuff high, because they think they can.

  6. Love the clothespin bag! I love finding those. I see the Christmas trays a lot but never Easter ones, I would like to find a few of those, they are super cute. I enjoy your blog, I like all the same stuff you do. Have a good day!

  7. Wow that was a good price on the Butterfly Gold, you had some serious self-restraint! I love that red thermos you found. Thank you for sharing this at my History & Home link party - Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com

  8. I have a white rabbit that mounts on the wall! It looks to be the same manufacturer as your piggies! Everyone criticized my purchase, but it was so cool and I had never seen a porcelain wall rabbit. The estate I bought it at had it mounted behind a bar (perhaps a towel holder). I still haven't found the PERFECT spot to hang him!
