A Thursday Sale

I was in my car today thinking about how I wished I could stay home for one day and not have to run any stupid, boring errands (gas station, post office, grocery store, bank etc.).  All of the sudden, I saw a sign for a garage sale.  What the heck, I thought.  So I stopped and let me tell you, I am so glad I did!

Vintage metal picnic basket for a dollar?  Okay!  Old reflectors in the free box?  You bet!

I got all of these transfers for $2.00.  Now I just need to figure out how to use them!

And 50 cents got me another donkey planter for my collection.  I think that makes 6!

I don't think I will be complaining about errands for a while!

I'm joining the party over at:

Coloradolady for Vintage Thingie Thursday
The Thrifty Groove for Thrifty Things Friday
Have A Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson for Share Your Cup Thursday

Until next time....

  1. Oh my goodness. A dollar for the tin picnic basket!! You did great. I almost bought one for 27.00 but thought that was too much, which actually was a good price.

    The planter is so cute!!

  2. Thought of you and your sister and your blog today. Saw a yard sale in the local paper that had 30 vintage state plates. I didn't make it to that one, but I did get a good deal on a McKee Butter dish from the 1930's for $2.00. It will be featured tomorrow on my blog. I love it.

  6. That's so funny...I hit a great sale today too that I just happened on. LOVE LOVE the picnic basket. My grandma uses those Aunt Martha's transfers to do her stitching on tea towels. I've found some vintage transfers for her to do...they are so fun!

  13. What a steal of a deal on the picnic basket! I was thrilled when I won for 30.00 a green tin basket on EBay - where they go for 50.00 and up. And free reflector!?!?!? Glad I visited! Found your post at Share Your Cup Thursday

  15. I love finding the old transfers.... but I am the weirdo who actually uses them. I am slowly bettering my embroidery skills. The newer transfers, I am not too crazy about most of the designs....
