Tons of Sales...What's Going On?

The weather here has been crazy.  Not crazy like Boston 48 feet of snow crazy but 60+ degrees and sunny crazy, every day and not an end in sight.  I'm a season girl.  That is one of the things that I love about living in Oregon. We get all 4 seasons!  But I feel like Winter is totally passing us by.  Our daffodils are already blooming!  I think a lot of people are pretty confused about what is going on because suddenly Craigslist looks like it does in the Summer.  TONS of sales.  I'm definitely not complaining.

Jadeite is becoming increasingly hard for me to find.  The top bowl is marked Fire King and the larger bowl is unmarked.

Pottery, vintage glasses, and a vintage tablecloth...three things I love to come across at sales!

I actually bought this cake carrier a while ago but don't think I ever got around to sharing it.  I love the ones that don't have the knobs on top.  Then I can stack them better!

I found the pink Melmac cup at the thrift the other day and the pink Fire King cereal bowl at an antique mall when I went to visit Alex.

I bought this cute set with the intention of leaving the carafe and one of the glasses on my nightstand for water.  That idea lasted for about 5 minutes when my all too curious cat had to get on the nightstand and start rubbing on them.  Weirdo.

I am not supposed to buy anything that is part of the Hazel Atlas pink elephant collection.  Hanna wants to get all that for me.  But when you find them in an antique mall for $3 apiece, you buy them.  I'm pretty sure she will understand.

I bought the cat with the cowboy hat on Instagram for Maddie.  The BINGO and flash cards came from another garage sale.

More nice weather in our forecast.  I'd better get online and see if anything exciting is going on this weekend!

Have a great day...

Erica

  1. You found some great stuff! Especially love the jadeite. I hardly find it anymore, but then I've got over 200 pieces and don't really need more, or shall I say that I don't really have room for more in my Hoosier cabinet. It's been in the 70's here, so I'm hoping to hit some yard sales this weekend too!

  4. My daffodils popped up and now it is snowing on them, but it was 60 midday, crazy is right! Love all the sweet pastel colors of your finds. Wish I would find some jadeite. Sweet tablecloth too.

  6. It's been crazy warm here in Denver, too! Weird. Now they're starting to worry about drought this summer because we're only 80% of normal snowpack for this time of year. Traditionally March is our wettest month though, so there's plenty of time for the snow to fall--right when I'm itching for it to be Spring, of course!

  7. It is crazy weather and where was winter? I think $3 each for dancing elephants is totally forgivable...

  8. Never one to disappoint. You have the best vintage glass collections and I love your cake carriers. I have that same bingo box. The graphics are fabulous. Enjoy that spring weather! It's going in the negatives this weekend in MI. The backyard ice rink will be happy.

  9. Great finds! Jadeite is getting so much harder and increasingly more expensive to buy. I remember when I found my set of 4 pink elephant cups (just like the ones here) at a thrift for $8 for all, I about died. Did this dealer not know what they had??

  12. Here in the South we are getting cold spells quite frequently and we are very tired of them - you can have the cold back. A tip for the cake tins - If there is a knob on the top I turn a round cake pan over the top and stack the next cake carrier. It is a balance act. Love the pink elephants.

  14. What beautiful treasures you have! Do you have a separate page where you list pricing? I am interested in the Jadeite, of course, and the cake carrier. I love the carafe and tumblers but I have 4 kids and two still in a breaking phase. And I have that exact same table cloth! Mine was passed down to me with two tiny stains already on it tho. Still love it!
