Happy New Years Eve, Everyone!
It's that time of year again. You know, the one where I bore you all with the reliving of my absolute favorite finds of the year. I was actually a bit more organized this time. As I found and photographed my favorites, I put them in a special file called, you guessed it, Favorite Finds. BTW...becoming more creative with my blogging is one of my resolutions for 2015. So here you have it....Thrifter Sister Erica's Favorite Finds of 2014!
I found this awesome addition to my cake carrier collection at a garage sale given by a local antique's dealer. I spotted it in the online photos and couldn't get there fast enough! As I was walking out, A lady walked up the driveway and told me she was coming for the same thing! Glad I got there early.
After trying for a few years to complete my Pink Daisy set, I found exactly what I needed on one of my jaunts to Portland. I love that I didn't have to resort to eBay or Etsy to find them!
After coveting a set of glasses in a vintage caddy forever, Hanna and I found this one at a super early morning flea market. Like I said, it pays to be the early bird!
Finding this old recipe file was amazing. The best part was that it was jam packed full of old recipes!
Remember this? My $12 haul from a local dealer's junk shop? I think it's safe to say I will never see prices like these again.
My thrifted vintage tooled leather bowling bag which I use for a cosmetic bag when I travel. I was super stoked to find this at a heavily picked Goodwill on the other side of town.
This tin haunted me forever. There is a lady who sells at the local flea market and shows and she absolutely refuses to budge on her over inflated price. I was so happy to find one for a third of the price on our way home from seeing JT in Seattle last year. Justin Timberlake and junk shopping? My idea of a perfect weekend. Shara, I think you would agree :-)
Ever since I spotted this Hazel Atlas carafe on Pinterest a few years ago, I have been obsessed with finding it. I hoped to find it at the Palmer Wirfs show at the Portland Expo the last time I went. Well the power of positive thinking does work! I not only found the carafe at an amazing price, but a matching glass in the very next booth. Now to find more glasses....
I found another of my favorite finds from the same show for a whopping seven bucks! You Pyrex junkies out there know what a score this is!
This whole set happened really quickly. I found the cooler at an estate sale, the stove at a garage sale, and the picnic jug at an antique fair. All over the Summer!
A Black German Shepherd dresser caddy was an obvious purchase for me to make. I think it looks just like my Brewski :-)
I remember being stunned when I saw this on the shelf at an out of town Goodwill. I think you would all react the same way.
I practically sprinted across the room at the flea market to get to this. I love crossing things off my list!
So there you have it! 2014 looked pretty good and I think it's safe to say that 2015 has a lot to live up to!
Thanks to all of you out there in Blogland who have stuck with us this past year. I know we haven't blogged as much as we would like to (another resolution) but it's nice to know that you are all still around when we do. Your comments and views mean the world to us and let us know that you are enjoying our finds as much as we are.
Have a safe and happy new year!!

Merry Christmas!!
Busy day around here getting ready for Santa. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!
Now, take a minute and enjoy the madness that goes on at my house this time of year...
My apron collection grew quite a bit this year
Coffee station!
I always have one or two spots where I put random things that don't really go with any of my other displays. It always seems to work!
Old jars full of bottle brush trees, cookie cutters, cupcake papers, and mercury glass garland.
My red Cosco cart full of vintage Christmas kitchen pretties.
My second favorite spot in the house this year! Santa looks good with Jadeite, doesn't he?
My Christmas girl collection grew quite a bit this year so on this shelf are the ones in the red dresses.
Elf & pixie madness along with my small collection of vintage ornament hooks.
Not the best picture but I hung my vintage stocking collection along the dining room window again this year.
I love all my Christmas glassware and use it daily!
What? You don't have a tree in your kitchen?
Carolers and the giant Santa blowmold I thrifted.
More carolers, some angels, and my precious ceramic tree from my Grandma Gloria.
It just never ends!
Seriously. Never.
Santa blowmolds!
I put these vintage tree toppers in the same spot last year but mixed up the containers a little bit this year to make it different.
My creative sister nailed this chalkboard design I found on Pinterest!
This sign hung in my grandparents home every holiday for over 50 years. I am so happy to have it in my home now.
The majority of my Magpie Madness is corralled onto these two shelves.
I was super excited to finally be able to display my vintage tape collection on the old Scotch Tape store display I found this year.
My favorite display this year. It's a good mix of rustic and vintage, just like the rest of my house.
Another idea I found on Pinterest. I love how it turned out. I may just keep it up year round :-)
An overview of my Great Room.
Vintage lights and card boxes
A couple of random blowmold friends.
And deer madness!
My main tree this year. My kids aren't too happy with me not getting a real tree. But I had to put up the one that I found at that garage sale in Redding last Summer. I just had to! You understand, right?
Gurley candles!
Santa Land!
My Snowflake collection grew enough in the last year to need it's own display!
The wreath I made a couple of years ago.
The wreath Hanna and her pregnancy hormones made last weekend.
Santa mugs and a pretty pink tinsel wreath made by Magpie Ethel!
My goal is to find all the vintage Shiny Brite boxes to stack together. I'm well on my way!
My tins and recipe/card/list boxes took center stage on the mantle this year!

Had to borrow this one from IG. These blowmolds are as much outside decorating that gets done around here!
Are you all still there? Thanks for sticking around!
Have a wonderful Christmas, Friends!
