Flea Market Saturday With A Little Thrifting Snuck In

While Sister and Maddie were peddling Xylo's Truffle Oil at the Holiday Market, I snuck off to the Piccadilly Flea Market.  Normally it is only open every other Sunday.  But during the holidays, they have two weekends where they are opened both days.  I figured that if I didn't go on Saturday, it would be pretty picked over by Sunday.  Want to see what I got?  Well of course you do!
All of this crafting stuff couldn't have come at a better time.  Our next project is going to be Putz house remodeling.
I paid extra to get into the flea market early.  I think it is really worth the extra money because I highly doubt that this Fire King Jadeite vase or Gurley elf candle would have been there had I waited until the regular hours.  I don't have any elves or lambs so these were great finds for me.
The little Christmas girl bell and tiny Santa boot are both marked Japan.
Sister loved the Holt Howard pixie girl planter.  I will have to try and find her one too.  I got the Holt Howard Santa mug from the same booth.

A couple hours before the Holiday Market was due to close, Sister, Maddie & I left my BIL to man the booth while we took off looking for supplies for the next day's market.  We needed to go into Joann Fabric which just so happened to be next door to a Goodwill Superstore.  It was PACKED with people!  We almost couldn't find a place to park.  But it was definitely worth the chaos because look what I found for 49 cents apiece
More Santa mugs!  The crazy thing is that at the flea market, a seller had 3 of these plus two of the tiny ones for $12 and he wouldn't budge on price at all.  He gave me the whole spiel about how they are highly collectible and blah blah blah.  Well I wouldn't budge either because every single mug I have with the exception of my super tiny ones I either thrifted or found at garage sales.  Can you believe that I found them the exact same day at Goodwill for $2?  Meant to be I tell you!

Have I mentioned to all of you how super amazing my sister is?  She knows how much I love vintage Christmas so although she is slowly starting to build her own collection, she still manages to bring treats for me when she comes to visit.
Look at how delightfully tacky that these plastic pieces are!  I love them so much.  We tried to put the Santa head on one of our wreaths but he just didn't seem to work.  Maybe next time.  Plus she brought Maddie a lion cookie cutter with a red top.
She also brought me this turquoise pottery bowl and little turquoise shot glass with flamingos!  She is the BEST!

I can't wait for her to show you what I found for her at the flea market and at Plucky Maidens.  Sister, you need to blog about those ASAP!

I am joining Sue over at It's A Very Cherry Christmas for Rednesday.  See you there!

Happy Holidays,

Erica

  1. Ohh where to start??? I think the HH pixie planter is my favorite! That's too funny about the Santa mugs! I hate when dealers try to give you some shpeel about things being more valuable than they really are! LOL I love your "delightfully tacky" pieces from sister too!
I've decided that I'm officialy addicted to vintage Christmas. Seriously. I'm a hoarder of vintage Christmas.

  2. I've been jealous of all these Santa mugs that everyone has!! In the summer I saw a full set with a pitcher, I walked out of the store without it, why I don't know and have regretted it every time I see one of these mugs! I'd be really envious of all these new ones you found but I found three different ones yesterday!! Yay!!

  4. The Santa mugs are a great score! I just have one Santa mug...hope to find more in the coming days. Don't you love it when you find the same item at a thrift store for a fraction of the price..I think that's why I don't go to antique markets that often!
Looking forward to your Putz house remodel!
