Another Good Day At The Flea...

Hi Everyone!

I'm a week behind on my flea market finds post.  Last week, Alex moved back up to Corvallis for his second year of college.  That made for two days of my life totally devoted to helping him get settled in.  It's a good thing he's only 45 minutes away!  Then on Thursday, Hanna and I along with our husbands headed to Vegas for a long weekend.  We will just let you all imagine what went on there!

Anyways, on to the good junk...

It was a good day for (cheap!) vintage tablecloths.  I may even see a Wilendur in these pics!

A sweet family of deer in a grab bag found their way home with me.

This wafer tin is a duplicate for me so off to my Etsy shop it will go!

I'm happy to still be finding Pyrex at the flea market at actual flea market prices.

And in the category of Quirkiest Flea Market Finds, I bring you this pink and aqua humidifier in the original box.  The seller told me it still works too!

Not a lot but enough to make my early morning trek worth it!

Have a great week!

Estate Sale Friday...

There were lots of sales listed for this weekend, but only one sounded remotely promising.  No pictures in the ad but tons of great descriptive words like Vintage Kitchen, Vintage Linens, Lots of Collectibles.  Well, those words are all music to my ears so I took the chance and ended up getting there two hours before it started and got #15 on the list.

There was actually a pretty good amount of Pyrex at this sale and it was priced really, really well.  The majority of it was from the Primary sets though.  There must have been 5 full sets of refrigerator dishes with the old style lids.  But I left those behind and only got the lime green loaf pan and the 401 Horizon Blue mixing bowl.

The Jadeite shaker was the first thing I grabbed. Out of the garage!  The white shakers were found on my third walk-thru.  They were priced at $6 for the set so I'm not sure why somebody else didn't grab them first.  Lucky me!

A handful of smalls.  There were tons of flower frogs at this sale but I didn't let myself get too crazy.  A new to me box of vintage birthday candles for my collection as well as the two cutest German Shepherd dog figurines.  These were my favorite finds of the whole sale!

I have a small collection of gingham covered books that I display in our guest room.  This book of poetry will be added to the stack.  The Arizona cook book is so awesome!  It's full of recipes that Brian's family made while he was growing up in Arizona.  We're trying to figure out what to make first. I'm leaning toward Sopapillas.

It's hard to tell in this picture, but those are the cutest pink baby ducks on the sweetest handmade baby quilt.

A small stack of vintage sheets and pillow cases but enough to make me happy!

Later on this week, my BFF Rachel and I are headed up to Junk Bonanza.  Hope to have lots of good things to show you when we get back!

Happy Sunday!

It's That Time Of Year Again...

I'm very lucky that one of my most favorite shows to attend is a mere 20 minutes from my house.  The annual Coburg Antique Faire is always a great way to end the summer and kick of the fall junkin' season.  I didn't find as much as I normally do, but I am super happy with what I brought home!

On to the loot...

There is a lady who every year downsizes her massive salt and pepper shaker collection and brings it all to the faire.  I always find something from her.  How sweet will these be at Thanksgiving?

I absolutely cannot resist these Hazel Atlas ivy bowls when I find them at a good price.  They are so heavy duty and perfect!

Never one to pass up a good deal on vintage glassware, especially those huge tumblers.

Fun stuff for Miss Norah to play with when she comes to visit.

I have lots of Gurley turkeys so these two will fit right in with the rest of the gaggle.  The sweet boy and girl Valentine candy holders are a first for me to find in the wild.

This winking Santa wall hanger is pretty dang cute, don't you think?

I picked up this Halloween honeycomb kitty from one of my estate sale friends.  It's always fun (and sometimes aggravating) to see the things they grabbed that I missed out on at the same sales!

Believe it or not, there are still pieces of Pyrex that I need for my collection.  Like this bubblegum pink 024.  There was tons of Pyrex but lots of price gauging going on. I'm happy to report that I haggled my way to a really fair prices on this beauty!

Love the sweet graphics on this square dancing scarf!

It's always a good day when a few vintage linens come home with me.

And this amazing vintage quilt belonged to the sellers great aunt.  I ask you, who gets rid of heirlooms like that?

Even though I already have a minnow bucket exactly like this, for the price they were asking, it would have been silly of me to leave it behind.  Plus, the orange graphics are perfect for fall decorating.

One of the regular sellers at the flea market brought these to Coburg, hoping she would see me there.  I buy a lot of my vintage deer from her.  It's always nice to know people in buy and sell vintage!

I don't know if I am just getting more particular about the things I buy or if this year's faire just wasn't as good as those in the past. I do know I had to do quite a bit more digging to find what I brought home.  Plus there were a lot of sellers selling New Made To Look Old.  I really hope this trend dies out soon.  I want real vintage junk!!

Have a great day...

Flea Market Season & Some Thrifty Finds...

I know I've mentioned it before, but strangely enough, our flea market closes down for the Summer.  It runs Fall through Spring which I guess gives us Oregonians something to do during the cold and rainy months.  Yesterday morning was the first market of the season and although I didn't find a whole lot, I am in love with what I did find.

Pyrex, and good Pyrex at that!  And the prices were super reasonable too.  Yay!

Super cheap Fire King mugs.  Even a Jadeite one!

This is the third Lazy Farms barn I have found from the flea market and the second from the same seller.  The Edward Mobley squeak is different from the one I already have.  I didn't know they came in different colors.

Lastly, I bought this HUGE bag of old valentine and birthday cards.  There are even some donkey and cowboy ones in there.  My favorite!

I haven't been going in to the thrifts very often lately but over the past couple of weeks, I have found myself with some time to kill before picking up Maddie from school.

This giant duck has lost his squeak but he still really wanted to come home with me.

A pair of vintage pillowcases.

And from a thrift I never find anything at and haven't been to in months, a Miss Cutie Pie creamer & single shaker!  Definitely one of my favorite finds this year!

Hope you all have a great week!

Fun Finds From Here & There

Good Morning!

I'm still playing catch up and to be honest, I don't think I will ever fully be caught up.  This has to do with two things....one, I just am not blogging as much as I need to be and two, I am still finding lots of things to show you!  I have pictures on my camera I haven't downloaded, stuff in my car, and little piles here and there of things waiting to be photographed.  Thank goodness the junk finding never seems to end!

When we were in Spokane, we took a little break from Farm Chicks in the hopes that the crowds would thin out later in the afternoon.  Spokane has some really great junk shops!  I found this really sweet old travel bag.  Aren't the graphics great?

Some cute red, white, and blue ephemera for my 4th of July decorations.

This aqua rimmed enamel bowl is huge.  It was sitting in a stack with white and red ones and when I beelined for it, Brian said he knew exactly which one I was going for.  As soon as Miss Norah is sitting on her own, I am going to stick her nakey butt in it for a photo shoot.

I am in love with these cowboy themed coloring books.  They've never been used!  And the Texas Jigger brings my collection to 3.  They are all different too.

I sent Magpie Ethel on a fun field trip to pick these up for me from an antique mall in her neighborhood after seeing them on Instagram.  Thanks, Laurie!!

As soon as I saw these Agee Pyrex strawberry bowls, I knew they had to be mine!

When I found these NOS Humpty Dumpty drawer pulls, I had big plans to use them on one of my cabinets.  Now I can't bring myself to remove them from the packaging!  The NOS Santa cups were found at the same place.  I love when things are still in their original packaging!

More from the same seller.  This lady had tons of stuff still in the packaging.  I'm hoping she will be at the next market.

And a couple new squeaks to add to my collection.  I love finding these and can't wait for Norah to be able to play with them!

This seems like a good place to stop.  And my coffee cup is empty.  Priorities :-)

Have a wonderful Sunday!

I Almost Forgot!

Happy Sunday!

As I was going through and making some minor changes to our little neglected blog, I realized that I still haven't shown you guys the last of my Farm Chicks finds!  I am so behind on blogging.  I even contemplated taking a break from it but I just can't bring myself to do it.  Hanna and I have made so many awesome friends in Blog Land and it's been so much fun sharing all of our finds with you and reading your awesome feedback and comments.  So I plan on sticking around.  And Sister will be back too once she gets back into the groove.  Right now she is a little bit preoccupied with the most beautiful baby girl I've seen since Maddie.  Bear with me while I play a really long game of catch up.  And thank you so much for all hanging in there.  You guys are the best!!

I dug this incredible cowboy printed blanket out of the massive linen pile.

Feedsacks that I have no idea what I am going to do with but there was not a chance I was leaving them behind.  I worked hard digging these out!

Since Brian was along with me on this trip, we tended to bring home larger, more mantique style pieces.  Like this old light up top to an ice machine.

There were tons of these giant letters at the Farm Chicks show but they were super spendy.  We actually found this one at an antique store in Spokane for a third of what they were going for at the show!  I've wanted an R for our living room forever.  This one is HUGE!

Not one to pass up an old cooler, especially in red!  This came in handy when we stopped at a giant farm stand on the way home.

More fun junk for decorating the patio and porch.

This old metal sign used to say Barn but only had half the N left so Brian customized it to make it more fitting for our house.

Farm Chicks was the perfect way to spend my birthday weekend.  Brian was a real trooper but I think that next year it will go back to being a girls trip!

Until next time...
