Whimsical Goodness

It doesn't happen very often these days, but I managed to pick up some new Christmas friends and a few crafty ideas from the thrift stores the last two days.  I'm pretty excited, so lets just jump right in.  I've never bought the giant clear container of junk at Goodwill because there was one special thing inside I had to have, it always just seemed so ridiculous.  Well, that changed this week, because I paid $4.99 for a GIANT container of garbage, with these friends inside.

This is two firsts for me, a plastic deer and 3 Santa mugs!  I could see the deer really well, and knew I had to have it.  What a nice surprise that there was not one, but 3 Santa mugs inside.  One still has the Meier and Frank sticker for 45 cents on it.  How sweet.

Then today I went to the weird thrift store by the post office and got something for Sister and something for us to share.
A pink topper for Sister's aluminum tree!  I was really excited to get her this.  I don't have a tree, so it is fun to help decorate both of Sisteritas.
I found this great Better Homes and Gardens Holiday Decorations Book from the 1970s.  I was excited about all the whimsical goodness I found inside.

 Little elf men cities.
 Mushroom and gnome table arrangements

And elf stockings!  I really like the ice skate one on the end too.  I love all these tiny creatures and creations!  Most of this book is Christmas related, but there was a very small section for other holidays and I found something else just for me.  A squirrel made of seeds.  I'm in love.

Hope you like my mostly foresty finds, I sure do.  I'm linking up over at Sue Loves Cherries for Rednesday.

See yah soon!

  9. Don't you just love it when you're able to find "new" things for Christmas, especially when they have lots of red?
