Flea Market Finds & A New Collection

Hi, Everyone!

This coming up weekend is the Plucky Maidens Spring Fling Junk Fest.  I will be headed up to Portland on Friday along with Maddie and my mom.  We will be meeting Hanna there and are going to be staying the whole weekend.  I'm super excited!  If it's anything like any other Sister weekend, it will be full of junkin', booze, and complete lunacy.  Maddie is used to it.  Our mom is in for a real treat!

Despite only getting 3 hours of sleep the night before (teenagers, bonfire, you get the picture), I still managed to make it to the flea market for their early bird admission.  Every table was full but for some reason, it still took a ton of work to find the few things that I did bring home.  The sales are just starting around here so maybe the sellers just haven't been able to increase their stock.  Regardless, I am still happy with what I found.

Hanna pointed out to me yesterday that I am starting to collect circus themed items.  I didn't realize but I guess with this Jungle Juice soda syrup bottle and the peanut butter tin I found a couple of weeks ago, she is right!

I expected to find more Easter stuff since we are so close to the holiday.  Hopefully I will find some at Plucky and get to it before Magpie Ethel does!

I have been stashing away vintage laundry items for my laundry room remodel.  The remodel is done but now I just need to decorate.  I found the two Lustro Ware Laundry Sprinklers from two different sellers!  Kind of crazy and random if you ask me.  I always pick up colorful plastic clothespins when I find them.  They will look really cute in an old jar.

Evidently I have never met a vintage tin that I didn't like.  Ugh, why can't they make them ugly?!

Now, on to my newest collection.  Over the past few months, I have picked up several pieces of what I think is called plastic Depression Ware.  Please correct me if I am wrong.  Unfortunately, I haven't found any in pretty colors yet, only clear.  But for some reason, I'm totally drawn to it and am excited to use it this Summer.

It all started with the covered cake plate then was followed by the vase and pitcher.

A couple of weeks ago I found these 3 small tumblers.

Then on Friday, I came across the tray and napkin holder.

With the exception of the tray and napkin holder, all of these items have been found at different times.  But they all came from the exact same thrift!  Makes me wonder if they have a stockpile of it in the back room.

That's all for today.  I'm linking up with Sir Thrift-A-Lot & We Call it Junkin'.

Have a great day!

  1. That's amazing! Finding multiples of so many unusual things from different sellers! I adore the Easter stuff. Is that yellow rabbit rubber? It almost looks like an Edward Mobley price. Fabulous post!

  3. Cute finds! Love the Jungle Juice syrup dispenser. In college when we threw house parties, we used to make this concoction we called Jungle Juice. It was basically disgusting cheap grain alcohol, random jugs of juice, and lots of sliced fruit (or canned if we were feeling extra cheap). ;)

  5. Oh, I love that plastic ware. Wish I could go to Plucky Maidens, but probably not entirely worth the cross country plane ticket :) I may have to send my sister in my place with a huge list of things I want her to look for.

  7. Every time I hear that plastic glassware, I think, again, of a plate that my Mom had, but i think it's gone, I'll have to hunt again when I go back! I want that plate!

  8. Cute stuff! Love the tin, they are always cute and I think I have a tablecloth in that pattern, lol. Have a great time at Plucky Maidens. I think the 3 of you could get into some "fun" trouble. :)

  10. Just spent the last fifteen minutes catching up on your blog, and it makes me so happy to see that you're finding lots of great goodies! It's been very slim pickings here, but I'm hoping that will change now that our flea market is open. Love those laundry sprinklers, and I hope you find tons of great stuff at Plucky Maidens! Happy Easter!

  14. I don't think I've ever found a vintage tin that I didn't like, but that one is beyond fabulous! The colors, that daisy, the cute little knob on top and the condition! I'd settle for one laundry sprinkler...you really scored! :)
