Favorite Find This Year

Hi Blog Land, Hanna here.  Now, please don't get too excited, as my finds continue to be few and far between.  I am eagerly looking forward to a flea market adventure with Erica next Sunday, but for now I have to hope for luck at my local thrifts and attend the very rare sales in my area.  Almost 2 weeks ago I headed to my local Goodwill and found something I've been dreaming of.  Now, our Mom always says that thought expands, so if you think positively, its more likely that positive things will happen.  Well, no joke, I've been visualizing myself finding Pyrex, bookends, and globes at the thrifts, as these are on the top of my list for 2014.  Well, all that thinking paid off because here is my most favorite find so far this year!
Isn't it beautiful?  The color is so vibrant.
Another look here.  I did a little research and I've dated it from 1960.  I'm still grinning every time I look at it.
I participated in a vintage planter exchange on Instagram hosted by @inthefarmvintageshop.  I was paired with such a great partner @blackkatkollectibles and she sent me a bunch of goodies including the red cardinals and the bird planter.
She did a great job finding a planter that fits in with my taste, I'm a lucky girl!
I really did not need these Pyrex Autumn Wheat mugs, but when you are withdrawing from Pyrex, anything makes you feel better.

I also managed to go to a garage sale last weekend.  I got there 10 minutes early and there was already a line of at least 20 people.  This is seriously what I run in to every weekend even if its just a garage sale.  When they started letting people in they declared it was a really small space and only let the first 12 people in.  I was bummed, knowing the few people in front of me and types of things they collect.  I had Matt with me, who did not want to wait, but with enough pouting I got my way.  When I finally got inside I got these guys that made me smile all day.

They are not in the best shape, but who would leave Santa mugs behind?
Especially when a few of them are Holt Howard!

Well, those are all the goodies I have for you today.  The wind has finally stopped blowing here, but it has been one intense storm the last 24 hours! There is a sale down the street in the morning, so here's to some more positive thinking!

Always a Pleasure,
Hanna

  1. What a fabulous find! I would have been 10 that year so it's very familiar to me! Love your Santa mugs, too! Good luck with all of your treasure hunting! Hugs!

  4. Nice finds! I like the globe. And I totally would have bought the Pyrex mugs, too. I think I'm picking up Butterfly Gold and Spring Blossom Corelle out of sheer desperation for something Pyrex-related. Hope things pick up for us both!

  6. That is a great globe! Does it have texture for elevations like a relief map?
