Estate Sale Friday

Hi, Everyone.  Hope your week is off to a good start!

After I dropped Maddie off at school on Friday, I headed to an estate sale across town.  It didn't start for two hours but I figured I'd better get in line because there wasn't a whole heck of a lot going on so I thought there would be a lot of people there.  Plus, I could get caught up on my reading while I waited.  I was number 15 and once everyone got lined up, there were 94 people on the list!  I was glad I got there early.

I headed to the kitchen first and grabbed the only two decent pieces of Pyrex that I found. There were two refrigerator dishes that I believe at one time were blue but were so dishwashered it was hard to tell. I like to mix the plain white bowls in with my 4th of July and Valentines Day decorations.  The Texas Jigger glass is the second one I have found.  I love them!  I use them as wine glasses because they are bigger :-)  The Ecko spatula looking think is a Lifter/Flipper.  I only know that because it says so on it.  I have a few old Ecko kitchen tools that I have found over the years in turquoise and pink but they are pretty hard to come by so I am always happy to add one to my collection.

The laundry room had more random kitchen stuff in it including this orange 045.  I love this size of casserole.  It's perfect for Mac & Cheese!

Loving the cute and colorful rooster.  He fits right in with my Spring pottery display.  And those deer?!  Aren't they so sweet.  Probably something I will have to hide from Hanna when she comes to visit next time.  Always happy to find flower frogs and the tin and plastic cowboys were a fun purchase too.

There was one really small room filled with Christmas decorations, mostly newer stuff.  The Santa's are new but made to look old.  I thrifted the matching napkin holder last year.  I really need to pass some of my vintage Christmas tablecloths on to Hanna.  I have way more than I have tables for but I can't seem to pass them up.  I collect the choir boys and you can never have enough reindeer!

One thing that you will rarely find me leaving behind at an estate sale are vintage linens.  I got all of these for a steal and was super excited to find out that the blue and white one with the red and yellow flowers is a Wilendur!

Sales like this are making me really excited for the official estate sale season to start!  But until then, I'll be content with the random sales here and there, especially if I find great stuff like this.

Linking up with Sir Thrift-A-Lot for his weekly Thriftasaurus party.

Until next time~

Erica

  1. My late mother washed her little blue Pyrex bowl in the dishwasher so often, it is white. I bought myself another blue one to have her set completed. I love the linens & Christmas decorations. Love your blog!

  2. Aaaaaaah....do you hear my heart pounding over those gorgeous tablecloths! Yes indeedy, that's a Wilendur. Trying to remember who made that plaid one. Of course your other goodies are great too. You would have to hide those cute deer from me too!

  7. Lots of great loot! I love the "Texas Jigger" glass, seems like my state had an awful lot of bar ware... Big state, big drinkers I guess! Haha

  8. You are the second hand shopping queen!

I have been thinking to myself everytime I venture down the figurine aisle - it's been so long since I found a worthy deer figurine to bring home. Yours are adorable & I want those Cowboys!

  10. Congratulations! You are the shopping Queen! I'm going to my first estate sale in a LONG time on Friday and I can't wait. I'm analyzing the photos they have listed, trying to figure out what rooms the items I want are going to be in. If only I had a floor plan of the house I'd be all set :)
