People Can Be So Nice!
A few weeks ago, I received an email from a reader named Jilda who loves vintage Pyrex and grew up with Shiny Brite ornaments. She definitely sounds like my kind of girl! Anyway, she had been reading our blog and noticed that I have quite a collection of vintage Gurley candles. She, along with her family, had begun participating in 26 Acts of Kindness in remembrance of the victims at Sandy Hook Elementary. She found a Santa Gurley candle at a thrift store and wanted to pass it on to me as part of one of her acts. I received Santa in the mail today.
He's huge! I put him next to a normal size Santa candle just so you can see the difference.
Thanks again, Jilda for thinking of me. I feel quite honored to be part of this and you have truly inspired me in my own random acts of kindness.
I'm gonna head over to A Very Cherry World for Rednesday. Can't wait to see all of the other reds!

ReplyDeleteI found a Milk Glass Ziggy mug the other day at the thrift. My son's old teacher collects everything Ziggy. I saw her the other day and presented her with it. You'd think I gave her $500. She was so happy. I told her she could drink her coffee in it. She clutched the huge mug and told me not on her life. LOL. This is fun! Who knew gifting thrift items could be so much fun! Happy New Year. I'm looking forward to reading your blog this year.
