Well, I didn't go a whole week between posts this time! But pretty dang close. I've been busy sorting through all my hoard of vintage Christmas in the past few days. I decided that I am not going to wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate this year. I am going to do a little bit everyday, rather than try and cram it all in to one weekend. Hopefully, this will reduce the overwhelming stress that I get this time of year. I'd like to enjoy the holidays for once, not look at them like they are another chore.
I'm still finding some good stuff here and there. Antiquing and thrifting are how I relax and believe me, relaxation is definitely something I've needed lately.
Some IG finds from one of my favorite sellers. The blanket is perfect for the end of my bed. I also picked up a couple of vintage towels too.
I got the salt shaker in a mixed grab bag of vintage and newer shakers. Then the following week, a seller on IG had the matching pepper one.
I bought this rusty old rake minus the handle from Into Vintage's booth at Monticello Antique Mall in Portland. It will be perfect for Maddie to hang her necklaces from.
I was beyond excited to find this chalkware Black German Shepherd dresser caddy. Looks like my Brewski!
The tag on this tablecloth said it was found at a Ladies Auxiliary rummage sale. How neat!
I love finding Gurley candles that I don't already have. This Santa candle is huge!
This old recipe file is the perfect shade of Jadeite green and full of awesome old recipes!
My Daisy set is complete! I just needed the bottom space saver but the seller was selling them as a pair so I ended up with another of the larger space saver. Dang :-)
Never one to pass up vintage glassware, especially when it's pink! I also can't seem to stop buying these Hazel Atlas ivy bowls.
Linking up with The Cottage Market for Junkin' Joe and How Sweet The Sound for Pink Saturday.
Off to do some more decorating. Have a great weekend!

Does that mean you need to start on another set of Daisy ones? This might be a never ending obsession :) I'm with you on the decorating thing. I pulled out my boxes and blow molds last weekend and have been sorting things into piles of which room they'll go in. Right about now my husband is thinking half of it should go to Goodwill :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, that decorating idea is a good one! My Halloween crap is still up because I am just too lazy to put it all away. I only got out about 15% of what I even have anyway and still it seems like too much work. And if that seems like too much work, Christmas is never going to happen. But--I have to have the house all festive and fabulous before my husband comes home from his deployment, so I have to get it done! I like your idea of doing it a bit at a time.
ReplyDeleteSince Thanksgiving is so late again this year, I may cave and decorate early or at least start moving the furniture and cleaning. I remember growing up we never started until my brother's b-day on Dec. 16th. Great finds. If you have the time, bring them over to Make It Monday - the party starts at 7PM Sunday and runs to Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds from Instagram! I still haven't joined! I think I'm scared. LOL It took me forever to join Pinterest. But when I did it was just like everyone said it would be...addicting!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to start decorating for Xmas tomorrow. Little by Little!
We are suppose to get a bunch of SNOW tomorrow, so at least that will help me feel like it's not waaay too early!
Erica :)
Hi, I just found your blog. I live near you, and I have a large collection of vintage pyrex. I used to sell these, but haven't in about 4 years. Maybe you would be interested in my items. Sharon
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of decorating in stages. I've been loving all the peeks on IG. You'll be happy to know I've relocated my thermos collection to the a frame and it appears I have space for a few more now!!
ReplyDeleteHow interesting that they embroidered their names on a tablecloth instead of a quilt. Love it!
ReplyDeleteYour outing definitely paid off with these finds.
ReplyDeleteI have a set of Hazel Atlas ivy bowls (the large one broke in a move some time ago, so two remain). Yours seem to be more angular than mine. I think mine were a gift to my mom and dad when they married more than 59 years ago. I certainly won't part with them, and I will be looking for the largest bowl until I find it!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! I'm starting to get into buying things of IG too. I just can't help myself!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff, as always, Erica!!
ReplyDeleteI am actually going to do a post today - maybe there will be more with all the Christmas preparations ahead!!!
I once had a huge, ugly squirrel candle & it kept melting all over everything.. stained to table, the floor.. so I am iffy about buying candles. I don't think I own any vintage ones anymore.
ReplyDeleteYeah, great stuff as always. That's the piece of pink daisy I need to complete my set - the thinner space saver!
Love all of your finds!! That old recipe box is fabulous and so exciting its filled with recipes too!! Love the pretty pink Pyrex! I have a pink daisy too! :) Hope you have a great day!! xo Holly
ReplyDeleteVintage Dresser Caddy's are in this year! Haha that what most of my guy friends are getting for Thanksmass. And SO IT'S YOU I KEEP FIGHTING TO GET PINK PYREX! Haha tracking down pink pieces for Patricia's Christmas presents is proving to be harder than I thought. The pink Impala glasses are pretty cool too!
ReplyDeleteYou found awesome stuff! My favorite is the recipe file. I love it. That is my favorite color.
ReplyDeleteHi there! Saw your recipe file over at Junkin' Joe and had to stop by--great finds! Have a wonderful weekend! Blessings, Cecilia
