Happy New Years Eve, Everyone!
It's that time of year again. You know, the one where I bore you all with the reliving of my absolute favorite finds of the year. I was actually a bit more organized this time. As I found and photographed my favorites, I put them in a special file called, you guessed it, Favorite Finds. BTW...becoming more creative with my blogging is one of my resolutions for 2015. So here you have it....Thrifter Sister Erica's Favorite Finds of 2014!
I found this awesome addition to my cake carrier collection at a garage sale given by a local antique's dealer. I spotted it in the online photos and couldn't get there fast enough! As I was walking out, A lady walked up the driveway and told me she was coming for the same thing! Glad I got there early.
After trying for a few years to complete my Pink Daisy set, I found exactly what I needed on one of my jaunts to Portland. I love that I didn't have to resort to eBay or Etsy to find them!
After coveting a set of glasses in a vintage caddy forever, Hanna and I found this one at a super early morning flea market. Like I said, it pays to be the early bird!
Finding this old recipe file was amazing. The best part was that it was jam packed full of old recipes!
Remember this? My $12 haul from a local dealer's junk shop? I think it's safe to say I will never see prices like these again.
My thrifted vintage tooled leather bowling bag which I use for a cosmetic bag when I travel. I was super stoked to find this at a heavily picked Goodwill on the other side of town.
This tin haunted me forever. There is a lady who sells at the local flea market and shows and she absolutely refuses to budge on her over inflated price. I was so happy to find one for a third of the price on our way home from seeing JT in Seattle last year. Justin Timberlake and junk shopping? My idea of a perfect weekend. Shara, I think you would agree :-)
Ever since I spotted this Hazel Atlas carafe on Pinterest a few years ago, I have been obsessed with finding it. I hoped to find it at the Palmer Wirfs show at the Portland Expo the last time I went. Well the power of positive thinking does work! I not only found the carafe at an amazing price, but a matching glass in the very next booth. Now to find more glasses....
I found another of my favorite finds from the same show for a whopping seven bucks! You Pyrex junkies out there know what a score this is!
This whole set happened really quickly. I found the cooler at an estate sale, the stove at a garage sale, and the picnic jug at an antique fair. All over the Summer!
A Black German Shepherd dresser caddy was an obvious purchase for me to make. I think it looks just like my Brewski :-)
I remember being stunned when I saw this on the shelf at an out of town Goodwill. I think you would all react the same way.
I practically sprinted across the room at the flea market to get to this. I love crossing things off my list!
So there you have it! 2014 looked pretty good and I think it's safe to say that 2015 has a lot to live up to!
Thanks to all of you out there in Blogland who have stuck with us this past year. I know we haven't blogged as much as we would like to (another resolution) but it's nice to know that you are all still around when we do. Your comments and views mean the world to us and let us know that you are enjoying our finds as much as we are.
Have a safe and happy new year!!
~Erica

I also have many of the same things you found this year..the pink therm-a-jug, the green recipe box and the radiant mop polish. 2014 was a good year for you with junking!
ReplyDeleteGreat year for you and you are sure to have a great one ahead! You are so organized, I can't even think of what I found last month! haha! Happy New Year!

A fabulous year with lots of amazing finds. Cheers to 2015!!!
ReplyDeleteWow...a year of wonderful finds!!
ReplyDeleteYep, it was a great year for you! I love the green recipe file the best. Can't believe it's full! My year was ho-hum. I cut way back because I don't have the $ or space. But I'd say my best find was my $2.00 Aluminum x-mas tree from the flea market. Here's hoping 2015 is filled with lots of neat finds for both of us!
ReplyDeleteErica :)
I think the pink colemans and the juice container are my favs!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
What a year! Here's to 2015 and many more fun finds!
ReplyDeleteWOW, you had a REALLY good year in junk! If I had to pick a favorite, I think it would be the glass caddy. But that carafe is pretty awesome too, especially how it came your way by the power of wishing for it. I LOVE WHEN THAT HAPPENS!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Carol
The pink camping gear was my absolute favorite of ALL your finds this year! Wishing you good luck in the new year with the thrifting Gods!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly are lucky! What fabulous treasures you've found!
ReplyDeleteGAH! I knew just by clicking on the title of this post that it was going to kill me. Wow! What a year you've had indeed. My favorite items of this post are the Hazel Atlas juice glass and the tooled bowling bag. Amazing finds! Can't wait to see what pops up in 2015 for you thrifting sisters!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Heather
You found some amazing stuff! I would have bought all the same things, except maybe the German Shepard. They scare me :)
ReplyDeleteYou found so much good junk this year, I'm sure it was hard to choose!
ReplyDeleteYes, I would say you are totally awesome! My goodness, what great finds! I could look at these pictures over and over! It was hard to pick a favorite, but I am going with the $12 haul from the junk dealer! That's just to good to be true!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
P.S. I saw your comment on Erica's, and I wanted you to know that "el" is a word! It means, Elohim which is the Holy God of the holy bible. So "noel" means basically Holy Night, or night of Elohim!
Oh my goodness, I would have died of happiness if I had found ONE of these items! You have the magic, sister!
ReplyDeleteHa! I missed this post somehow and BAM there was JUSTIN's name and then MY name right there. Yep, Justin and Junking - NOTHING better. Great junk all the live long year!
ReplyDeleteGreat year of finds! It's awesome to check something off your list, but then as the year goes on that checked off item seems to get filled up by 2 more... I once found a FK red dots at GW... so dishwashered. Only time I ever seen one at a thrift! & that carafe is perfection! I need one. I see them all over IG & stuff.
